Commercial Furniture finds Search Engine
Furniture search engine is something interior designers have been looking for a long time. Since the commercial furniture industry is a billion dollar industry it only makes sense to have a commercial furniture search engine.
A friend of mine that has a lot of knowledge about interior design, tells me to build a furniture search engine because she is tired of wasting her time with google, yahoo and msn. And every other interior designers feels the same way she does. And how she is tired of looking at mickey mouse chairs when she is doing a search for task chairs.
After speaking with several interior designers and furniture reps. I knew I wanted to build a furniture search engine. Helping interior designers would allow me to fill a need.
I would not charge the interior designers a fee and I will not charge the furniture companies a fee (At least not for now). I will give the interior designers what they want, endless contract furniture to look at. I will give the commercial furniture companies what they need, 1,000’s of interior designers looking at their furniture.
When I was done building my first furniture search engine I called my friends, family and I also hired a telemarketer to call all the major interior design firms to get their feedback. This was the only way I could find out if mybusca could save interior designers time. I got great feedback from most of the interior designers we surveyed.
I started using social media; it was free and just cost me my time. In the first six months I got over 90 new non paying members. After the first six months I was still not making any money. Social media got the word out, but mybusca was not getting enough traffic. I knew that to take mybusca to a national or international level I would need to focus more time on SEO.
After I am done with my SEO plan and I have gain top page ranking for mybusca. It should be much easier for interior designers and furniture companies to find mybusca and see the great value a furniture search engine offers them.
Now I wanted to focus on getting top search engine placement, because I knew with the current amount of traffic I was getting to mybusca that would not be enough to attract larger commercial furniture companies.
You must listen to the needs of your audience if we want to continue to grow.
Interior designers and mybusca are on the same team. We just need to listen to what designers are saying, good and bad. This will keep us moving forward.
The interior design and the commercial furniture industry are both very tight niches. My hope would be to deliver great results for our customers and publisher. Getting great word of mouth from online and offline media and have that word of mouth spread like wild fire will help us grow. Since our focus is on delivering great results for our interior designers and new leads to the furniture industry. We feel natural that will produce great results for mybusca. If this works well for mybusca we will probably start a residential furniture search engine next few years.
